Once the agent is installed and activated, everything happens in one window: scan controls in the top bar, live stats underneath, and six tabs for the rest.
TruePrivacy Endpoint Agent main window with tab navigation

Top bar

  • Status pillIdle, Scanning (animated), or Paused.
  • Scan now — starts an incremental scan of your configured scope. While a scan runs, Pause and Cancel appear.
  • Stats row — files with PII, last scan time, next scheduled run, and objects scanned.

Tabs

The results table: file path, PII entity badge, match count, masked sample, and detection time. Search, filter by entity or file type, and sort by any column.
  • Hover a row to reveal a folder icon that opens the file’s location in Finder or Explorer.
  • Export everything as CSV or PDF.
  • With Allow delete from findings enabled in Settings, tick rows and use Delete selected — the agent asks for confirmation before permanently deleting files from disk. See Managing Findings.
Opens in read-only view mode: each entity shows ✓ (detected) or – (skipped), grouped by category. Click Edit PII types, adjust the checkboxes, then Save — changes apply from the next scan. See PII Types.
Scan your whole home folder or only specific folders you add. Exclude patterns (one per line) skip paths you don’t care about, and a throttle profile limits CPU and disk impact during scans.
Enable recurring scans with a preset frequency or a custom cron expression. Install the background service so scheduled scans run at login even when the app window is closed. See Scanning.
  • Allow delete from findings — enables the bulk-delete selection column in Findings.
  • Compressed archives — opt in to scanning inside ZIP, TAR, GZIP, and BZIP2 files, with a per-format checkbox for each. See Archive Scanning.
App version, device and enrollment details, license information — plan, licensee, and expiry with the remaining time (days, hours, or minutes) — plus Check for updates with one-click self-update.
First launch asks for your name and email, then an activation key: TP-ENROLL-… enrolls the device online, TP-OFFLINE-… activates an offline license with no server contact.
